The Need for Compliance and Efficiency in the Lab

Sample control and custody procedures are important when establishing the integrity of the sample from the time of collection through usage. Custody of materials is often required to document the movement, storage, and responsible person for hazardous materials, internal product, or customer samples.

Generate Labels

Generate labels directly from your inventory of samples to eliminate transcription errors.

Sample Receipt and Transactions

Create events logging each change to the sample automatically, capturing information about who used the sample for what. Create children samples as the sample is subdivided and track which subsample was used for which set of tests.

Location Tracking and History

Each sample can be assigned a unique location. Be as specific as needed and utilize nested locations. Ex: Building A > Lab 12 > Freezer 2 > Shelf 3 > Box 4 > Slot A9.
These locations can be changed automatically as experiments use them, or more carefully restricted. The full history is retained.

Sample Lifecycle

Each stage of the sample lifecycle automatically captures the following (as needed): Responsible person (with electronic signature), dates and times, number of containers and amounts, storage conditions, and shipment codes.

Automated Reporting

Inventory reports can be generated on demand or on a schedule and forwarded to key stakeholders. Locations, amounts, pending expirations, and other action items can be highlighted. These reports can also be printed for internal distribution.

These custody mechanisms are most commonly used for samples, but are also applicable to solutions, chemical inventory, and equipment. To learn more about how SciCord handles these, more information about these use cases is available here:

What Our Users Say

Don’t take our word for it. We exceed our client’s demands everyday to make their research and discovery process simpler and more efficient.

We have been audited by FDA twice and they had no concerns about the system nor any findings.

Deb Carr,
Director, IPD

This is by far the best value in science software (or anything else in science, really) that we’ve ever experienced. Other solutions in this price range had a fraction of the features, and those with the features cost 3x – 10x more. We’re very happy customers.

Josh Guyer,
Senior Pharmaceutical Scientist

In a head to head competition, SciCord was 3x more efficient at documenting a typical work process than [competition]. A complete ‘Assay’ work process required 60 minutes in [competition], while only 20 minutes in SciCord!

PhD
